Fish introductions in mountain ecosystems: an ecological disaster that needs change
The introduction of fish into mountain lakes cause a number of problems:
- decline in native fish species
- decline in native species of amphibians, invertebrates, and zooplankton:
- modification of the food-web structure
- introduction of pollutants
- change in the visual appearance of the aquatic ecosystem
